Happy New Year!
While it hardly seems possible that another year is behind us, it is and we have now moved on to 2020! That said I’m pretty sure last year held many victories as well as some challenges for each of us. If your life is anything like mine, it can seem like you’re on a roller coaster ride. To be honest, it seems like at times that we are on “the ride” and we never signed up for it!!
Well, one thing is for sure, and that is that this year too will have its share of ups and downs. But, regardless of the ups and downs we might have in 2020, we need to remember and rely upon the fact that God is sovereign and is in complete control! The Bible tells us:
For in Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through Him and for Him. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. (Colossians 1:16-17)
As we enter into this New Year, rest easy, knowing that all things are under the control of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
With that recognized, I wonder, where is your focus in 2020? Is it on God and how you can increase your walk with Him? Are you Praying and seeking ways to serve Him and tell others about Him? With Him as our Savior, shouldn’t we want, as the Bible says in John 3:3, for Jesus to increase in our lives?
This year at Saluda Baptist Church, we are planning some new ways for you to increase your walk with Him and ways to serve Him. Beginning in January, we will have Bible Studies for men and women on Sunday evening! In addition to that, on Wednesday nights we will also have a couple of options for you: A Bible Study on “Defending the Faith” for the adults and Club SBC for our Youth! Between each of these, you will have plenty of opportunity to increase your walk AND increase the ways you serve Him.
My Prayer is that in 2020 you will increase your focus to “2020 Vision towards the Lord!” Seek Him, Serve Him, and arm yourselves to tell others about our Savior, Jesus Christ.
May God Bless you in this New Year!
