Running shoes

Can you believe that it is June already?  It seems that this year is just flying by!  Think about it, in thirty more days, this year will already be half over.  And before you know it, we will be racing towards 2022!

Speaking of racing, most runners don’t expect a podium finish when they participate in a running race. But that doesn’t mean finishing strong doesn’t matter. It’s still satisfying to feel fast and steady when you cross the finish line.

So how do runners train to gain speed and finish fast? I read an article that suggested three things for runners to finish fast:

  • Practice Finishing Fast
  • Improve mental toughness
  • Run Hills

You may ask, well how does this relate to our Faith?  In the book of Hebrews we read:

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.  For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.

                                                                (Hebrews 12:1-3 NKJV)

As mentioned before, we are quickly approaching the half-way point through the year 2021.  Are you still running strong for the Lord?  My Prayer is that we do not get distracted by the many snares that may tempt us, but rather seeking ways to finish fast always sprinting to our Lord, improving our mental toughness in our faith, and running through the hills and the valleys of life.

One of the ways for you to continue the race with Him is through our new Bible study starting in June.  In that study, we will be exploring the book of Ephesians which is an excellent way to further your knowledge in doctrine AND the application of doctrine in your every day life.

My Prayer for you this summer is that you will continue to run the race, pursuing Jesus in ALL that you do!  Seek Jesus in all that you do, serve our Lord as much as you can, and arm yourselves to tell others about our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Remember, Jesus Loves You and So Do I!!
